Russian Orthodox icon of the Transfiguration.

Painted in the mid-17th century in Kostroma, Russia.

Technique: base consisting of two joined wooden panels, gesso, egg tempera; two through-tenon splines are inset into the reverse.

Condition: shows traces of an old restoration of the paint layer.

Dimensions: 73 x 54 cm (28 3/4 x 21 1/4 inches).

Написана в середине XVII века в Костроме (Россия).

Техника: основа из двух соединенных деревянных досок, левкас, яичная темпера; с тыльной стороны врезаны две сквозные шпонки.

Состояние: имеются следы старой реставрации красочного слоя.

Размеры: 73 x 54 см (28 3/4 x 21 1/4 дюйма).
