AN ICON DEPICTING FIVE SELECTED SAINTS, INCLUDING METROPOLITANS OF MOSCOW, ANNA THE PROPHETESS. Russia, circa 1900 Tempera on wood panel. Executed with fine detail throughout. Painted against a tooled background with spandrel and border patterns imitating a contemporary metal oklad. Minimal restoration. The reverse with a Cyrillic dedicatory inscription and a red Cyrillic seal reading 'SAS AFON'.
