Russian Orthodox Christian icon: "The Image of the Lord Not Made by Hands"

The icon was painted in the second half of the 19th century in Mstera (Vladimir Governorate). The panel is constructed from two layers of hardwood and features two end-grain splines. Technique: gesso, gold leaf, egg tempera, and gilding; inscription on the reverse:

"June 11, 1894, No. 2"

Dimensions: 13” x 10 1/2” x 1 1/16” (33.3 x 26.5 x 2.8 cm)

Condition: good; the artist's original brushwork is fully preserved, with very minor

scratches—traces of time.

Христианская, Православная Русская икона ,,Нерукотворный Образ Господень” Икона была написана во второй половине XIX века в Мстёре (Владимирская губерния). Основа выполнена из двух слоев твердой древесины, две торцевые шпонки. Техника исполнения: левкас, сусальное золото, темпера, золочение, на обратной стороне надпись: ,,11 е июня 1894 No. 2"

Размеры: 13” х 10 1/2” х 1 1/16” (33.3 х26.5 х 2.8 см.)

Состояние: хорошее, авторское письмо полностью сохранилось, имеются очень

незначительные царапины-следы времени.
