At center, the enthroned Christ delivers a blessing and holds an open book of Gospels. He is flanked by the Mother of God and John the Forerunner, forming the Deisis. Also gathered around the Savior, the Archangels Michael and Gabriel, the Apostles Peter, Paul and saints. The corners illustrating the four Evangelists. Four selected saints appearing on the borders: the Four Metropolitans of Moscow.
