The Russian icon of the Bogolyubskaya Theotokos with selected saints along the edge: from above - the Deisiev row with the archangels Michael and Gabreil. On the left - the holy martyrs Porfiry and the holy martyr Dmitry, on the right - Saint Nicholas the Fool and the holy Great Martyr Catherine.
The icon was painted in 1874 in Central Russia. Egg tempera on gesso, gold leaf and wood.
In the lower part, the inscription and the signature of the artist are partially preserved: "I wrote this image ... in the workshop of Metroknin, painter N. Makhonin,1874."
Condition: Two splints on the back (both missing), slight abrasions and negligible loss of the gold background and paint layers.
